Calgary man wins WESTERN MAX million-dollar prize
On July 4, Kirk Stratychuk checked a handful of tickets at his Lotto Spot retailer. While scanning, he noticed that a WESTERN MAX ticket was a winner-- he just wasn't sure for how much!
"The number flashed so fast on the screen, I didn't know what it was," Stratychuk remembered. "One clerk said that I won $1,000. A second clerk said that I won $100,000. Then the manager came up and said, 'Kirk, you won a million!'"
The Calgary resident was excited to think about what the win would mean for him. "It's not going to change me, but it will make my life better," he said.
Stratychuk plans to put some of his winnings toward a new Chevy truck.
Stratychuk matched all seven numbers on a June 25 WESTERN MAX million-dollar draw. His numbers were 2, 5, 10, 26, 27, 29 and 40.
He purchased his winning WESTERN MAX quick pick ticket at the Co-op Food Store on Shawville Blvd. in Calgary.
