Kandice Machado, AB - Board Chair

Kandice Machado joined Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis in 2002 and has held a variety of roles in multiple divisions prior to her appointment as Chief Executive Officer in 2020. Kandice’s expertise in financial management is complemented by her extensive experience in solution-focused financial advice and planning in complex business environments. Her remarkable professional tenure provides a substantial foundation for innovation that supports AGLC’s evolving gaming, liquor and cannabis industries, while promoting a thriving business environment balanced with productive regulations. Kandice’s wealth of industry knowledge coupled with her proactive approach to exceptional customer service reflects her commitment to business modernization and reducing red tape to create a more vibrant Alberta.



Steve Tunison, SK - First Vice Chair

Steve Tunison brings more than 20 years of marketing and business experience in both the public and private sectors. He first joined SaskGaming in 2010 as Director of Marketing and held that role until 2014, when he moved to SaskTel as Director of Corporate Sales.

Steve rejoined SaskGaming in April 2019 as Vice President of Marketing. His portfolio expanded to include Strategic Planning in January 2019, and Communications and Online Gaming in September 2021.

Steve was one of the first appointments to LGS in early 2023, joining Saskatchewan’s newest Crown corporation as Vice President of Gaming.

He holds a Bachelor of Physical Activity Studies from the
University of Regina, as well as an Advanced Graduate Diploma and MBA from Athabasca University. Steve is also a Certified Management Consultant.


Gerry Sul, MB – Second Vice Chair

Gerry is President & CEO of Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries. He is responsible for the corporation’s annual business performance, daily operations, and the achievement of strategic goals. All members of the Executive Management Committee report to him.

Gerry began his career with Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries in 2007 as Chief Information Officer. In the years since, Gerry has held several key executive positions, including Vice President, Corporate Services, and Vice President, Facilities, Central Services, Security & Surveillance. Prior to his current appointment as President & CEO, Gerry was the Executive Vice President of Gaming & Entertainment. He previously served as Acting President & CEO in 2019 and 2023.

Before joining the Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries team, Gerry worked for more than 20 years in the agricultural industry, directing the information technology function, and providing project management services for strategic initiatives, mergers, and acquisitions.

Gerry holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Computer Science) from the University of Manitoba and has completed the Queen’s School of Business Executive Program, and the University of Nevada, Reno Executive Development Program. He is a member of the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation (ILC) Board of Directors.



Steve Lautischer, SK – Director

Customer service is at the heart of Steve’s approach to leadership, industry development and issues management. With a career that spans 15 years in the gaming industry prior to his almost 18 years of service at AGLC, Steve’s background in sales and marketing has led to an approach that prioritizes open-mindedness, listening and striking a balanced solution. Steve believes that in all three lines of AGLC’s business, a different lens is needed to continue to bring value, modernization and growth to each sector with the shared goal of elevating safe products and entertainment experiences. Steve believes in the unique power that AGLC has to better the province it serves with revenue that supports services Albertans rely on and regulated choices Albertans can enjoy.



Kevin Gilroy, SK – Director

Kevin Gilroy is the Chief Executive Officer of Sask Sport, the operator of Sask Lotteries. Named CEO in 2015, he has worked with Sask Sport since 2001 in various roles. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and Master of Business Administration degree, both from the University of Regina.

Kevin currently serves on both the Board of the Western Canada Lottery Corporation and the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation. He served as WCLC Board Chair from 2021-23 and as the ILC Board Chair from 2019-21.




Jeff Traeger, MB – Director

Jeff Traeger is President and CEO of the United Food and Commercial Workers union, Local 832. Since his election to the position, Jeff has worked tirelessly to make life better for the union’s 19,000 members and all working Manitobans.

As the lead for Manitoba’s largest private-sector union, Jeff possesses a keen understanding of labour dynamics, negotiations, and advancing the interests of workers. His dedication to progressive values pairs with his skill in negotiating and collaborating with individuals of all perspectives in service of working people.

Jeff’s commitment to community includes the roles he plays on the leadership teams of numerous provincial, national, and North American labour and pension organizations.
