Four new millionaries in Alberta thanks to MAXMILLIONS!

Adam Campbell’s composed demeanour fooled may have fooled his family, but the Airdrie, AB resident really did have a ticket that netted him a $1 million MAXMILLIONS prize from the April 3 LOTTO MAX draw.

“I was so calm that nobody believed me until I showed them the ticket,” he laughed. Campbell made the last minute decision to grab his Quick Pick ticket from the 7-11 at 900 Market Street SE in Airdrie earlier on the day of the draw and was shocked when he checked it the day after.

“It’s just such a total relief – any financial stress is just gone,” noted Campbell, who added that he’s going to use his windfall to pay off debts, buy a home, and invest.

When Denis Jackson learned he’d be taking home $1 million from a winning LOTTO MAX (MAXMILLIONS) ticket, he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

“I had to run and grab my son from outside,” recalled Jackson, who bought his Quick Pick ticket for the April 10 draw at the Freson Bros. at 330 Fairview Avenue W in Brooks, AB. Jackson has been playing the lottery for more than 30 years, but said he’d “never seen a ticket like this before – it’s definitely a good thing.”

Jackson says he plans to use his windfall wisely.

“I want to get my house paid off and invest some and make sure things are looked after,” he said – though he did note he may splurge on a new truck

Pincher Creek, AB’s Dean Maier is glad he played his usual numbers – a combination of birthdays, anniversaries, and a baseball jersey number – for April 3’s LOTTO MAX draw, but not for the reason you might think. In buying the ticket, Maier got a couple of free Quick Picks, which netted him a MAXMILLIONS win that made him $1 million richer!

Maier, who’s used the same numbers for years, picked up his ticket at the 7-11 at 722 Main Street in Pincher Creek, the day before the draw. He discovered his win the following day after checking his numbers on the WCLC mobile app – even though at first he didn’t believe it.

“I thought, ‘No way!’” Maier recalled, laughing that he checked three or four times to confirm before finally texting his wife and telling some coworkers.

“Everyone thought it was a late April Fools’ joke,” Maier laughed. He says he plans to invest the money and eventually use some of it for a vacation.

The last-minute decision to pick up a LOTTO MAX ticket proved to be a good one for Brian and Kristi Gloer, who took home a cool $1 million MAXMILLIONS prize on April 3.

The Calgary couple picked up their ticket earlier that same day on a whim and were shocked to discover they’d won when they checked their numbers on the WCLC mobile app -- “it was pretty phenomenal!”

The couple, who bought their winning ticket at the Circle K at 1011 Hidden Creek Drive NW in Calgary, say that they’ll use their windfall to help out their family, friends, and pay off their mortgage.
