Winnipeg LOTTO 6/49 winner loses $1M ticket but gets it back!

Mario Raimondi just claimed a $1 million win on the LOTTO 6/49 Gold Ball Draw… and it’s partly thanks to a good Samaritan! 

The Winnipeg local said he plays every draw and typically checks his numbers on wclc.com and keeps the tickets in his wallet. 

This draw, Raimondi said he checked his ticket and saw the major win but dropped his wallet while he was out.  

“I was lucky enough that someone found it and returned it to me,” Raimondi smiled. “The ticket was still in my wallet when it was returned!” 

“I’m taking this as a sign to pay it forward and help someone else out,” he continued. “My prayers have been answered!” 

The winner has his eyes on the prize when it comes to spending this windfall. 

“The first thing [on my list] is a new house!” Raimondi said. 

Raimondi purchased his winning LOTTO 6/49 ticket at Red River Co-op at 1600 Regent Avenue West in Winnipeg. He won his prize on the April 5 Gold Ball Draw with the selection: 27966889-01, a white ball.
