Winnipeg local wins $1M on LOTTO MAX!

Drita Zeqiri is $1 million richer after winning on the March 31 LOTTO MAX draw!

The Winnipeg local said she forgot to check the ticket after tucking it in her purse.

“I was at a store with my daughter-in-law and grandson, and when we went to pay, I saw it in my purse!” she said. “I gave it to the cashier to scan and when I checked the screen, I thought it said I’d won a dollar!”

“The cashier said, ‘There’s more zeroes!’” she laughed. “I couldn’t believe it—a million! I screamed and jumped up and down!”

Zeqiri said everyone in the store began to stare but she didn’t care.

“We left and went to celebrate just the three of us,” she smiled.

“This is the second time I was ever this happy—the first was when I came to Canada. It was my dream,” she explained. “Now, I have won $1 million. Canada is the best country in the world with the best people in the world!”

Zeqiri is making plans to enjoy her winnings with family.

“Right now, I’m going to put it in the bank,” she said. “But I’m going to make some plans to share it with my kids and put it towards my retirement!”

Zeqiri said she doesn’t have the words to describe how happy she feels, and is looking forward to enjoying her second dream come true with her loved ones.

Zeqiri purchased her winning LOTTO MAX ticket from Superstore at 215 St. Anne’s Road in Winnipeg. She won her prize by matching a MAXMILLIONS selection in the March 31 draw: 8, 9, 16, 31, 36, 37, and 38.
