Whitecourt local wins $100K on EXTRA ticket forgotten in the car!

Shelly Bauer has taken home $100,000 on EXTRA! 

The Whitecourt winner typically saves up her tickets and checks them all at once. This time, she was blown away by a win she didn’t know she’d won in January! 

“I’m not very good at checking [my tickets] and cashing them in,” she admitted. “They sit in my car sometimes forever!” 

“I was getting gas and thought, ‘You know, while the car is filling up, I’m going to go check some of these tickets!’” 

Sure enough, a LOTTO 6/49 and EXTRA ticket from January 29 was the major winner! 

When asked about her reaction, Bauer simply said: “WTF!” 

Bauer has plans to invest her winnings and is planning a vacation as well—she’s not sure where she’ll go yet. 

“It feels unreal,” she said. “It really helps!” 

Bauer purchased her winning LOTTO 6/49 and EXTRA ticket from 7-Eleven at 5103 50 Avenue in Whitecourt. She won her prize by matching the last six digits selected in the January 29 EXTRA draw: 5521526.
