Two Saskatchewan EXTRA wins in one day!

It’s not often you see two winners for the exact same EXTRA draw in Saskatchewan —and this month, Sonia Dusyk of Regina and Sheila Lyons of Saskatoon both took home prizes in the October 7 EXTRA draw.

The two winners have never met but now have a life-changing date in common.

Dusyk won $250,002 on the LOTTO MAX and EXTRA ticket she purchased on a quick stop at Co-op Food Store (2925 Quance St. E in Regina).

The Regina local said she was in disbelief when she saw the prize amount.

“I had to look two or three times to make sure I was seeing it right,” she laughed. “It was such a shock!”

Lyons on the other hand won $100,000 on the LOTTO MAX and EXTRA ticket she purchased from Shoppers Drug Mart (610 Taylor St. E in Saskatoon).

The Saskatoon local said she immediately phoned a friend to share the news.

“I told one of my best friends and she just said, ‘ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!’” laughed Lyons. “She was really excited.”

Something Dusyk and Lyons have in common besides their EXTRA wins, their home province, and the draw date is that both winners are waiting to decide how they’ll spend their windfalls.

“I really have to think about it,” admitted Lyons. “I don’t have any plans right now.”

“I think I’ll just invest it,” said Dusyk.

The last time two Saskatchewan winners took home EXTRA prizes on the same draw date was June 2, 2023 when a winner from Regina and a winner from Rouleau each won a $100,000 prize.
