Taber local wins $100,000 LOTTO MAX prize!

Vonie Prijoles is celebrating after winning a $100,000 LOTTO MAX prize.
The Taber local discovered his win while catching up on a stack of lottery tickets during a day off.
“I was in my car on my day off checking multiple lottery tickets that I'd had sitting around,” he explained. “I was scanning them on the Lotto Spot app, and I couldn't believe my eyes.”
The surprise left him wondering how to break the news to his wife.
“I was wondering how to tell my wife, and I wanted to wait until she got home,” he laughed. “The first thing I said to her when she walked in the door is, ‘We have a problem!’”
Once he stopped joking around, Prijoles showed her the winning ticket.
“She was stunned,” he said.
The Taber winner already knows how he plans to use his prize money.
“I am planning to save it and pay for my sons’ college education,” he said. “It just feels surreal.”
Prijoles purchased his winning LOTTO MAX ticket from the 7-Eleven at 5023 50 Avenue in Taber. He won his $100,000 prize on the May 5 LOTTO MAX draw by matching the numbers 5, 6, 15, 19, 32, 36, and 38.
