Red Deer local discovers $100K EXTRA prize on the john!

Matthew Webb was crowned a winner while on the throne! 

The Red Deer local took home $100,000 in the January 11 EXTRA draw... and he found out in an unexpected place most people wouldn’t admit to! 

Webb said he was getting ready for work and was sitting on the john when he scanned his LOTTO 6/49 and EXTRA ticket. 

“It’s the truth!” he laughed.  

Webb said once he had finished his…ahem, business, he went to wake up his wife to share the news. 

“We were both so excited,” he said. “We have plans to put new windows and doors on the house and now it’s all possible.” 

“We’re thinking of taking a possible vacation later this year too,” he added. 

Aside from his unusual story, Webb is thrilled with the win. 

“It’s awesome,” he said. 

Webb purchased his winning LOTTO 6/49 and EXTRA ticket from Express 24 at 1-88 Howarth Street in Red Deer. He won his prize by correctly matching the last six digits in the January 11 EXTRA draw: 1122242.
