Million-dollar LOTTO MAX win in Lac la Biche!

“I still wake up sometimes and think it was all a dream – but it’s real!”

Anna Verhaeghe is living the dream after winning $1 million on the April 18 LOTTO MAX draw. The Lac la Biche local won one of the two MAXMILLIONS prizes drawn on the Friday night draw.

Verhaeghe said she was shocked when she scanned her ticket in-store.

“I gave the ticket to the cashier,” she explained. “Then I had to take a minute to count all the zeroes. I could not believe there were six of them!”

“It feels really good,” she continued. “I still wake up sometimes and think it was all a dream – but it’s real!”

The new winner said she said hasn’t made many plans for her windfall yet.

“I’m going to put it away for now,” she explained. “I never, ever, thought I would win a million dollars. I want to take time to think about what to do with it.”

One possible option for the new millionaire: retirement.

“I might retire,” she laughed. “We’ll see!”

Verhaeghe purchased her winning LOTTO MAX ticket from Fiddler’s Food Gas Water & Carwash at 9031 101 Avenue in Lac la Biche. She won her million-dollar prize with the numbers: 9, 24, 30, 31, 36, 42 and 44.
