LOTTO 6/49 $1M Gold Ball draw win for Calgarian!
Richard Brodeur has won $1 million on LOTTO 6/49!
The Calgarian said he has been playing the Canadian lottery favourite for years
“Since retirement it’s become a routine to buy on Thursdays!” he beamed.
Brodeur said his typical routine includes purchasing a Super Pack and Scratch & Win tickets—then he checks them on his Lotto Spot app.
“I remembered sometime in the afternoon that day that I’d actually forgotten to check my tickets,” he admitted. “I scanned it on the app, and my wife and I were stunned—she opened up the WCLC website to check the Gold Ball draw numbers.”
“She thought I was nuts!” he laughed.
The sweetest part of the win is that Brodeur’s winning ticket was purchased with a Free Play he had won on a previous ticket.
“It feels mind-bending,” he said. “I feel very, very fortunate.”
Brodeur’s plans for his windfall aren’t fully formed, but he said the safety net it represents is the best prize.
“I’ve been retired for years and costs are going up,” he said. “The realization that all the little things we’d started to worry about are taken care of is a blessing.”
Brodeur purchased his winning LOTTO 6/49 ticket from Sundance Huskey at 75 Sun Valley Boulevard SE in Calgary. He won his prize on the Gold Ball draw on March 22 with the selection: 38126167-01, a white ball.
