La Loche local wins $200K on Scratch ticket!

Alvin Janvier has won $200,000 on a $10 POLARIS RIDE TO RICHES Scratch & Win ticket!

The winner said it’s not a ticket he usually buys, but he believes there was “good Karma” involved.

“I was going into the store to buy [a ticket] and there was a panhandler outside,” he explained. “I gave him $5 before I went in”

The La Loche local had some choice words when he scanned the ticket later in-store and saw the prize amount.

“I said, ‘Holy s***!’” he laughed. “I didn’t say anything else!”

“I told my mom first,” he continued. “My mom said she had just had a dream that my [late] grandma had given her money!”

Spooky coincidence aside, Janvier is excited to take some time to decide how he will enjoy his winnings.

“Honestly, I have no idea,” he admitted. “I’m not going to rush anything. I’ll leave it alone for a while to think about it.”
