Humboldt local wins $100K on EXTRA!

Eric Puetz of Humboldt said the hair on his arms stood up when he saw how much he had won on EXTRA.

“I got a little chill when I saw the amount I had won!” he laughed. “I definitely got goosebumps!”

Puetz was checking his ticket in store, and the retailer was the most surprised.

“The cashier scanned it for me and said out loud, ‘Holy!’” he chuckled. “She was more excited than me!”

“I sent a picture to the family group chat to share the news, and they thought it was a late April Fool’s joke,” he continued. “My wife walked in the door later that day and said to me, ‘Is this real?’”

Now that Puetz’s family (and goosebumps) have calmed down, he’s preparing to enjoy the summer in style with this windfall.

“I want to finish some home renos, and go on a holiday with the kids,” he smiled. “With this never-ending winter, the kids are excited to get away!”

“It’s very surreal,” he added. “When I buy tickets, I know someone has to win – this time I’m glad it was me!”

Puetz purchased his winning LOTTO 6/49 and EXTRA ticket from Thrifty Market at 203 Main St. in Humboldt. He won his prize on the April 15 EXTRA draw by matching the last six digits: 5166272.
