Grande Prairie winner brings home $1 million LOTTO 6/49 win

Clement Kawi didn’t know the surprise he was in for when he stopped in to the Circle K at 9109 92nd Avenue in Grande Prairie in late November to check the LOTTO 6/49 ticket he’d bought there the day before.

“I went in […] not knowing that I was carrying a winning ticket,” he recounted, recalling that he scanned the ticket twice using the store’s ticket checker before handing it over to the cashier to validate. Kawi’s ticket matched the $1 million Guaranteed Prize Draw number – 24915289-01 – for the November 28 SuperDraw event.

How does he feel about it?

“Happy! Very happy!” he laughed.

Kawi says he plans to use the windfall to pay off his house and get rid of some debt, and will invest the rest. Although not before splurging a little bit.

“We’re gonna get a truck,” chuckled Kawi.
