Grande Prairie local wins $2 million on WESTERN MAX!

Ron Fraser is familiar with the staff at his local Lotto Spot retailer—he goes there regularly to purchase WESTERN MAX tickets. 

However, Fraser is now somewhat of a famous face for them, after winning $2,007,000 on the March 4 WESTERN MAX draw! 

“I checked on the self-checker,” Fraser said. “I honestly thought there was a hiccup with the terminal—I just couldn’t believe it—so I took it up to the front.” 

“I told the cashier, ‘I have one more to check,’ and she asked how much it was for,” he explained. “I said, ‘I think it’s a couple million,’ and she laughed and said, ‘I don’t think I’ve got that on me!’” 

Of course, once the cashier scanned it, no one was laughing anymore—it was undeniable that he had won a cool $2 million! 

“My heart is in pretty good shape,” Fraser laughed. “I didn’t get too flustered, but I was very excited!” 

“It’s come at a really good time,” he continued. “I’m planning to use this to help my family.” 

Fraser said he’s “blessed with good health and a good family” and is excited to go with them to Mexico to spend time together. 

“It feels very rewarding,” he said. 

Fraser purchased his winning WESTERN MAX ticket from Wapiti Road Shell at 10805 79 Avenue in Grande Prairie. He won his prize by matching all seven numbers in the WESTERN MAX March 4 draw: 2, 8, 12, 26, 37, 41, and 50.
