Grande Prairie local stunned by record $1.7M win on LIGHTNING LOTTO!

Beverly Eastcott has won a record-breaking $1.738,739.70 on LIGHTNING LOTTO!

The Grande Prairie local said she didn’t notice right away what her prize actually was.

“I was at the store and when the win came up and I didn’t even notice!” she laughed. “I heard the win sound and was so used to $3 or $4 wins, I didn’t look up!”

“I noticed when I got home and saw the numbers. I couldn’t believe it!” she said. “I broke a record, and I didn’t even notice!”

Eastcott said she ran into her house and woke up her family members to show them.

“I think the kids are even more excited than me,” she laughed. “It couldn’t come at a better time.”

Eastcott said her plans for spending the windfall include looking for a new house.

“I want to be out in the country on an acreage!” she smiled. “There’s lots that I want to do—like travel—but it’s still so fresh. I need to think about it!”

Eastcott purchased her winning LIGHTNING LOTTO ticket from Circle K at 7-9701 84 Avenue in Grande Prairie. She won her prize in the May 27 LIGHTNING LOTTO draw by matching all five numbers in the selection: 7, 11, 25, 28, 45.
