Edmontonian excited to surprise wife with $1M LOTTO 6/49 win!

Bao Tran was happy enough when he thought he’d won $100,000 on LOTTO 6/49, but after he showed a friend his winning ticket, he realized he had actually won $1 million! 

“I scanned [the ticket] in the store,” he explained. “I was very happy, and I told my friend it was $100,000.” 

“When I showed him, he looked closely and said, ‘No, this is $1 million!’” Tran laughed. “I hugged him!” 

Tran is even more excited to surprise his new wife with the news. 

“I just got married in Vietnam and I’m going to surprise my wife by purchasing a house and a new car for her,” he smiled. 

“I was happy with the $100,000,” he continued. “Now, I feel very happy!” 

Tran purchased his winning LOTTO 6/49 ticket from Hughes at 12405 97 Street in Edmonton. He won his prize by matching the selection in the May 21 Gold Ball draw: 36342785-01, a white ball.
