Calmar local wins $250K on EXTRA!
Pearl Matthews won $250,000 on a WESTERN 6/49 and EXTRA ticket, after carrying on her late husband’s routine.
“My husband died over a year ago, and I started to play his numbers,” she explained. “I play twice a week now!”
Those numbers may not have applied to the EXTRA draw, which is randomized (not player selected), but Matthews was still ecstatic to discover she had become a winner while following his routine.
“I saw that my ticket was a winner when I scanned it on the Lotto Spot app,” the Calmar local explained. “I was shocked—I just kept checking it over and over!”
Matthews is planning to use her windfall for home repairs and a trip to visit her family in Eastern Canada.
“It feels pretty good, for sure!” she smiled.
Matthews purchased her winning WESTERN 6/49 and EXTRA ticket from Leduc Co-op Gas Bar at 100 Deer Valley Drive in Leduc. She won her prize by matching the last six digits in the EXTRA selection on February 26. 6652454.
