Calgarian wins $5M on LOTTO 6/49!

Mike Meldrum is a millionaire, five times over! 

The Calgarian won $5 million on the June 18 LOTTO 6/49 draw. 

“I saw someone had won in Calgary, but I hadn’t checked my ticket yet,” he admitted. “[My partner and I] sat and mapped out what we would do if we won before we looked.” 

Meldrum said he has been playing LOTTO 6/49 weekly for 35 years, and this was something he had dreamed about for a long time. 

“When I first told my wife, she didn’t believe me,” he laughed. “She told me to send her the numbers so she could check online herself.” 

Now, Meldrum is ready to make his dreams a reality. 

“Our cars are about ten years old, so we’re thinking maybe new vehicles,” he said. “I have some decisions to make about continuing work, too.” 

“We haven’t made any plans yet, but when we travel, we can stay longer while visiting my wife’s family,” he continued. “It doesn’t feel real!” 

Meldrum purchased his winning LOTTO 6/49 ticket from 7-Eleven at 15150 Mount McKenzie Drive SE in Calgary. He won his prize by in the June 18 LOTTO 6/49 Classic Draw by matching all six numbers in the selection: 8, 14, 20, 25, 30, and 38.
