Cabin dreams come true for Calgary local

Angela Koskey is still coming to terms with winning $1 million in the December 31 draw of LOTTO 6/49. The Calgary local says the moment she realized she’d won was one she’ll never forget.
“I was holding the tickets, and my husband was scanning them,” Koskey explained. “We always check them on Sundays and we'd just finished breakfast!”
“We were shuffling through them and then BOOM – my husband said, ‘You won't believe this!’”
The Calgary winner was in shock.
“I was stunned and a bit numb,” she recalled, chuckling. “My husband was dancing around the kitchen and I said, ‘Ah settle down!’”
Koskey said her shock was soon replaced by smiles as she began thinking about what to do with her prize.
“I would like to get some sort of summer cabin,” she explained. “It will be nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city without making a reservation somewhere.”
Koskey purchased her winning ticket from the Circle K located at 4-34 Edgedale Drive NW in Calgary. She won her prize by matching the Gold Ball draw on December 31 with the selection 33438970-01, a white ball.
