Calgarian wins $1 million on a $10 Scratch & Win while kayak shopping! 

Pam Millage has won $1 million on a $10 IN THE MONEY MULTIPLIER Scratch & Win ticket! 

The Calgarian said she was out shopping with her daughter for a kayak when she decided to buy a ticket. 

“We saw [the kayak] was on sale at London Drugs and went to get it,” she explained. “If we hadn’t bought the kayak, I never would have bought the ticket at the checkout, and I never would have won!” 

Millage explained that because of the size of the kayak and the fact that it was a sale item, they had to go through the cashier check out and customer service desk instead of using the self-checkout.  

She was able to see the Scratch & Win tickets available at the register and bought a couple for fun—including the new $3 DILLS TO BILLS pickle-scented ticket and a $5 SET FOR LIFE ticket. 

“I scratched the [IN THE MONEY MULTIPLIER] ticket and thought, ‘This doesn’t make sense!’” she laughed. “I had to double-check to be sure I was seeing it right!” 

Sure enough—the ticket was a million-dollar winner! 

“The first people I told were my kids,” she said. “I called and made them guess how much I’d won—it took a while!” 

“I haven’t made plans on how to spend it yet, but my son’s car just died so I may help with that,” she said. “My husband and I are thinking about a trip overseas to see one of our kids as well!” 

Millage said the serendipity of her win is still amazing to her. 

“There were many little things that lined up for this to happen,” she said. “Well—a million, probably!” 

Millage purchased her winning Scratch & Win ticket from London Drugs at 4701 130 Avenue SE in Calgary.
