Big win in Bonanza: $100K on EXTRA!

Abie Aruna was shocked to see she had won $100,000 on EXTRA after scanning her WESTERN 649 and EXTRA ticket in store! 

“I took it up to the cashier after I scanned it myself—thinking it couldn’t be true,” the Bonanza local said. “The cashier said, ‘There are too many zeroes for this to just be $10,000.’” 

“It was $100,000!” Aruna grinned. “I just laid down right there and said, ‘Thank you, Jesus!’” 

Aruna plans to spend her money visiting family. 

“I’m going to take a trip to Africa to visit my dad who is undergoing surgery soon,” she said. “I would also like to make a donation to the food bank to support the homeless because Canada has given me so much.” 

“I have told two of my children and will tell the third once she finishes her exams,” she smiled. 

The Bonanza winner said the feeling of winning is primarily relief. 

“It’s a huge, huge relief,” she smiled. “I am so happy.” 

Aruna purchased her winning WESTERN 649 and EXTRA ticket from the Circle K at 100-2950 22 Street in Red Deer. She won her prize by matching the last six digits in the EXTRA draw for April 9: 3287588.
