Galen Harriman is Saskatchewan’s newest LIGHTNING LOTTO jackpot winner! The St. Brieux local won $754,435.40 on the January 22 draw.

The winner said he had an interesting reaction to discovering the win.

“Well, I was shocked,” he started. “I was told you have a better chance of being struck by lightning than winning the lottery, but I was struck by the LIGHTNING LOTTO – it’s shocking!”

“There were a few moments of silence and then I started slapping myself in the arm and face like, ‘Is this real?!’” he laughed. “Then I had to sit down.”

The new winner said he has a few ideas for his windfall, starting with a big payment.

“My first priority is to pay off my house,” he explained. “After that, [I’ve been] thinking about getting a ride-on lawnmower and maybe a golf membership!”

“I’d also like to relax a bit and do some yard projects,” he said.

Harriman said he would also like to pay it forward and donate more to the charities he supports.

The generous winner purchased his winning LIGHTNING LOTTO ticket from 50’s Diner and Variety, located at 102 1st Ave. N in St. Brieux. He won LIGHTNING LOTTO’s instant jackpot by matching the numbers 11, 16, 28, 43 and 49 on the January 22 draw.
