$500K DAILY GRAND win for Lloydminster local!

Randy Kuzek is $500,000 richer after winning on the February 23 DAILY GRAND draw!

The Lloydminster local said he was on a run to 7-Eleven when he thought of checking his tickets while he was in the store.

“I had a stack of tickets to check for the past month,” he explained. “When I came across the winner, I thought it actually said $5,000!”

“I scanned it a second and third time and realized it was half a million!” he continued. “I was all smiles!”

Kuzek said he’d had a difficult month after his mom passed away at the end of February, and the win felt serendipitous.

“My mom passed away and then we had a terrible snowstorm, which prevented me from travelling,” he explained. “Had I been able to travel, I wouldn’t have gotten this winning ticket!”

He said winning on DAILY GRAND is keeping his mom on his mind a little extra.

“My mom used to travel with me when she was feeling good,” he said. “We would always stop at the gas station and buy chocolate bars and lottery tickets.”

“When I would buy tickets, she would always say to me, ‘Do you ever think you’re going to win one day?’” he smiled. “It’s hard to believe… I am grateful!”

Now, Kuzek is looking forward to putting his winnings into saving for retirement and helping out his kids.

Kuzek purchased his winning DAILY GRAND ticket from Shell at 1740 Idylwyld Dr. in Saskatoon. He won his prize on the February 23 draw by matching all five numbers selected: 21, 22, 36, 39, and 41.

Myth:  I’ve noticed a pattern in the numbers that have been drawn over the past few weeks.

Fact:  Human brains like to look for patterns.  But any patterns you notice in lottery numbers are meaningless.  Looking at past numbers is like looking in the rearview mirror of your car – it doesn’t tell you what’s ahead.
