$303K LIGHTNING LOTTO win for Winnipeg local!

The first LIGHTNING LOTTO jackpot win of the year has struck in Winnipeg! 

Alden Tourond was shocked by a $303,007.80 jackpot win that came up on screen instantly in-store when he purchased his LIGHTNING LOTTO ticket on New Year’s Day! 

“I thought it was $30,000 and of course was very happy, but then my brother said, ‘Hey, this is $303,000!’” he said. “I was blown away!” 

Tourond said he shared the good news with his family right away. 

“When I told my family members, I said I was just really excited to hold the cheque!” he laughed. 

The Winnipegger said his winnings have kick-started the next chapter in his life. 

“I’ve worked for 31 years and now I’m going to retire!” he smiled. “I still can’t believe it!” 

Tourond purchased his winning LIGHTNING LOTTO ticket from the Circle K at 415 Springfield Road in Winnipeg. He won instantly with the selection: 4, 6, 9, 14 and 38.
