$259K LIGHTNING LOTTO win strikes in Watson Lake!
Belinda Escalona has been struck by a $259,055.30 LIGHTNING LOTTO win!
The Watson Lake local was chatting with a friend and distracted while the win came up on the customer screen at retail.
“I thought it was only $259!” she laughed. “Another friend pointed out it was a lot more!”
Once Escalona realized the full amount, she was stunned.
“I was screaming and shaking,” she said. “People came up to see what was happening!”
“I told my nephew right away and he couldn’t believe it,” she continued.
This win means more to Escalona than just extra savings around the holidays —it’s a chance to spend time with family.
“I’m going to be able to see my kids and my mom in the Philippines,” she said tearfully. “I haven’t spent Christmas with my kids in 12 years. This is going to be so special for us.”
“It’s overwhelming,” she admitted. “I just feel so grateful!”
Escalona purchased her winning LIGHTNING LOTTO ticket from Watson Lake Foods at 716 Adela Trail in Watson Lake. She won her prize in the October 19 LIGHTNING LOTTO draw with the selection: 7, 14, 21, 24, and 40.
