$250,000 EXTRA Win in Legal!

For Twyla Elliott and Jamie Mahood, a regular lottery check turned into an extraordinary moment when they discovered they won $250,000 on the February 28 EXTRA draw. 

Elliott checked the ticket online and at first, he said the win didn’t quite sink in. 

“I looked at the last three numbers,” she explained. “It didn’t register when all the numbers matched.”  

Overcome with nerves, she did what anyone might do in that situation: “I was so scared that my eyes messed it up, so I texted Jamie.” 

Mahood’s reaction to the message was equal parts confusion and concern. “It was gibberish,” he laughed. “She was so nervous!” 

Once the reality of the win set in, the emotions shifted from panic to joy.  

“It’s so surreal,” Mahood said. “We’re grateful to the universe. So grateful!” 

As for what’s next, the couple said they have something in mind: “We would like to go somewhere warm,” Elliott smiled. 

The winning ticket was purchased at Legal Supermart, located at 4743 50 Avenue. The winning EXTRA number for the February 28 draw was 1429023.
