$137K LIGHTNING LOTTO win strikes in Edmonton!

Corey Letendre is the latest to be struck by a LIGHTNING LOTTO win—this time, the jackpot was $137,894.70! 

The Edmontonian said he was stopping to buy coffee on the way to work when he purchased the instant win ticket. 

“My dad had told me to try LIGHTNING LOTTO because he plays it and so I thought I’d try it out,” he said.  

“I saw the win right on the screen—the cashier looked at the ticket and then me and then the ticket again a few times!” Letendre laughed. 

When the Edmonton winner continued heading into work, he had some big news for his coworkers. and his dad. 

“I called my dad, and he was so happy and so shocked by it,” Letendre said. “I had called him right before I bought it and then again when I won—I’ll definitely be taking him out to celebrate!” 

Letendre said his plans for enjoying the winnings include taking the rest of the winter off of work and potentially some travel as well. 

“I’ll pay off my car and then see where I’m at,” he smiled. 

Letendre purchased his winning LIGHTNING LOTTO ticket from Esso at 275 Carnegie Drive in St. Albert. He won his prize instantly by matching the selection for the October 23 LIGHTNING LOTTO draw: 7, 20, 26, 27 and 42.
