Shelley Simpson experienced the heart-fluttering feeling of a lottery win after scanning her LOTTO MAX and EXTRA ticket. The Cochrane local won $100,000 on the March 7 EXTRA draw.

“My heart started to palpitate,” she laughed while claiming her prize. “It feels pretty good!”

The new winner said she has two main plans for her windfall.

“I’m going to put the money away,” she explained. “I’m going to pay some bills.”

Simpson purchased her winning $6 LOTTO MAX and EXTRA ticket from the Petro Canada at 100-261200 Crossiron Boulevard in Balzac, AB. She won her prize by matching the last six digits of the EXTRA number drawn on March 7 – 2693713.
