$1 Million LOTTO MAX Win in Edmonton!

What started as a routine visit to the Lotto Spot app ended with an unforgettable surprise for Mohamed Nimji. The Edmonton local discovered he was holding a $1 million LOTTO MAX prize from the August 18 draw.

Nimji purchased his winning ticket using the Lotto Spot app. He learned of the win after opening the app to buy a ticket for the next draw and noticing a notification about unchecked tickets.

"I went into the app to buy my ticket for that night's LOTTO MAX draw,” he explained. “[The app] was telling me that I had several unchecked tickets, so I went to go look and I saw the winner."

Even after seeing the prize amount, Nimji wasn't convinced it was real.

"I had to go back and forth with another winning ticket to confirm it was actually a winner,” he laughed. “I was in disbelief!"

As the reality of the seven-figure prize began to sink in, Nimji started thinking about how the win could support both his future and his passions.

"Retirement fund and a trip next year to Africa,” he said. “I was born there."
