$1M LOTTO MAX win for Saskatoon duo!
Friends James Wawryk and Joel Hedlin won $1 million on LOTTO MAX on the April 25 draw!
The Saskatoon locals said they often buy tickets together and were absolutely shocked by the win.
“I scanned [the ticket] probably ten times on the Lotto Spot app,” Wawryk laughed. “I thought, ‘I’ve gotta calm down here!’”
To share the news with Hedlin, Wawryk sent a text asking him to stop by.
Like a good friend, Hedlin agreed.
“He said he was sick and dehydrated,” Hedlin said. “So, I went to drop off some Gatorade and check on him… that’s when he scanned the ticket and showed me it was $1 million!”
“He’s been on me ever since about paying back for the Gatorade!” laughed Wawryk.
The pair have been dreaming of winning for some time and are excited to enjoy the windfall together.
“I’m looking forward to going to a Dallas Cowboys game for once in my life,” said Hedlin. “My wife and I have been talking about taking a trip for a long time!”
“It’ll be good to put money away and save some for a rainy day,” said Wawryk.
The pair purchased their winning LOTTO MAX ticket from Ironwells Gas Bar at 4031 44 St. in Lloydminster, SK. They won their prize by matching one of the two MAXMILLIONS selections drawn on the April 25 LOTTO MAX draw: 1, 3, 13, 21, 25, 36, and 46.
