Checking Your Ticket

You have a lottery ticket; how do you check if it’s a winner? There are several ways to check your tickets!


EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY – WCLC Prize Offices are prioritizing the payment of prizes $1,001 and above. Claims under $1,001 will only be accepted at prize offices with a Player Care reference number. If you are unsure, scan your ticket in-store or on the Lotto Spot app. If you are still in need of assistance, please call Player Care at 1-800-665-3313.


1. Lotto Spot app

If you purchased a draw-based game, Scratch & Win or Sports ticket at a Retail Spot location, you can use the app to check your ticket(s)!

  • Step 1: Download and open the Lotto Spot app.
  • Step 2: Tap the "Scan" icon at the bottom of your screen.
  • Step 3: Scan the barcode at the bottom of your ticket or under the latex of scratch tickets.
    If the barcode at the bottom of your ticket is misprinted, the ticket scanner will not recognize it. If you experience issues scanning your ticket, please call Player Care at 1-800-665-3313.

If you purchased a draw-based game ticket on the app, you can check the ticket on the app by following these steps:

  • Step 1: Log in to your account.
  • Step 2: Go to your account by tapping the icon at the top right of your screen and select "My Tickets".
  • Step 3: Select the ticket from the desired draw date and find out automatically if you've won.

The Lotto Spot app also allows you to:

  • See the latest draw results
  • View prize breakdowns
  • Browse your favourite lottery games
  • Find a lottery retailer near you!

2. Ticket Checker at a Lotto Spot retail location

Go to a Lotto Spot retail location and find a ticket checker/self-scanner in-store.

  • Step 1: On the machine, wait for the message, “CHECK YOUR TICKETS HERE” to appear on screen.
  • Step 2: Insert the barcode under the red light – the barcode is located at the bottom of the ticket or under the latex in the play area for Scratch & Win tickets.
  • Step 3: Move the barcode slowly through the light until you hear a BEEP.
    Prize information will then appear on the screen.

3. Sign up for WCLC’s MVP Service

MVP members can have the winning numbers for DAILY GRAND, LOTTO MAX and WESTERN MAX and/or LOTTO 6/49 and WESTERN 649 sent to them by email.

4. Compare your numbers to the winning numbers on our website.

5. Check the winning numbers printed and posted at a Lotto Spot retail location.

6. Call the Winning Numbers Lines for the most recent numbers.

WCLC’s lottery system is unavailable one hour each morning for regular day-end processing and maintenance. If you attempt to check your ticket when the system is unavailable, you will receive the message "This ticket cannot be checked at this time. Please try later."
