Whitehorse resident wins $100,000 on PLINKO!
Brandon Solonick is Yukon’s first-ever PLINKO grand prize winner! The Whitehorse resident travelled from the Northern Territory to St. Albert, Alberta on October 6 to drop his Chip on the PLINKO board. Solonick won $100,000!
“It feels amazing,” he said. “It feels like being out of debt! And that is huge – a huge relief!”
Solonick’s journey to winning on PLINKO started with a win on a different game.
“I bought a BIG SPIN ticket and won $5,” he explained. “I looked over, saw the PLINKO ticket and said, ‘I’ll get that one.’ It was a good choice!”
The winner said he has a few ideas for his windfall, including bill payments, a family vacation and sharing the prize with his family.
Solonick purchased his winning PLINKO ticket from the Jackpot Lotto and Smoke store located at 211 Elliott Street in Whitehorse.
The $5 PLINKO ticket is an instant game with one big difference; not only can players win cash prizes in the same way as with a usual instant scratch ticket, they can also uncover ‘CHIP WIN’ and discover their prize through a prize animation played out on the screen at their local Lotto Spot retailer. Prizes revealed through the animation are predetermined within the game’s prize structure and associated with the ticket.
If the screen shows the player’s animated chip land on PLINKO, that winner gets a date with the PLINKO board, at their very own chip drop event. At the chip drop event, players have the chance to take home a guaranteed prize of between $100,000 and $500,000.
