St. Albert man wins $7.9 Million on LOTTO 6/49!
New winner plans to tackle his bucket list with lottery windfall
“I’ve always thought that people buy lottery tickets because there’s this chance you might be the next big winner,” said Raymond Mussell, Alberta’s newest multi-millionaire. “It’s that ‘what if?’ question that keeps you buying.”
Mussell now has the chance to answer that ‘what if?’ question for himself. The St. Albert resident won
$7,935,986.70 on the December 15 LOTTO 6/49 draw.
“There are a few things I’m looking forward to ticking off the old bucket list,” he said. “I’ve been recording music for years, and I’m now recording my second album. I’d like to put some money toward marketing the album and see where that takes me.”
The happy winner said he also plans to buy a house and a new truck, and share his windfall with his children.
Along with those initial plans, Mussell says winning $7.9 million has given him a greater appreciation for financial planning.
“Winning this much money has made me look at things with a whole new perspective,” he said. “I don’t feel any different as a person, but I’ve been given a really special opportunity. I need to be responsible when it comes to spending that opportunity.”
“It would be easy to go out and buy this, that and whatever,” he continued. “But I won’t do that. It’s important to me that I continue to live a sustainable life, and that my kids live that life as well.”
The winning LOTTO 6/49 numbers for the December 15 draw were 11, 12, 22, 36, 46 and 47. Mussell split the night’s $15.8 million jackpot with a matching ticket purchased in Ontario.
Mussell bought his $38 ticket at the Safeway Gas Bar located at 395 St. Albert Trail in St. Albert.
