Calgary woman wins $100,000 on EXTRA… again!
Calgarian wins major lottery prize for the second time in less than two months
Kerrie Crouch has about 200,000 reasons to be a fan of the EXTRA draw. The Calgary resident won $100,000 on the game not once, but twice in two months.
Crouch won her first $100,000 prize when she added the EXTRA to her WESTERN MAX ticket for the December 18 draw. Her second $100,000 win came on February 3, when she opted to add the $1 add-on to her WESTERN 649 ticket. She claimed her second prize in early April and nobody is more astonished by this turn of events than Crouch herself.
“I was completely shocked,” she said. “It’s very exciting!”
Crouch purchased her most recent winning ticket at the Save-On-Foods located at 300-1440 52 Street NE inside Calgary’s TransCanada Centre. She purchased her first winning ticket from another store inside the same mall – Rexall Drug Store at 152-1440 52 Street NE.
After winning her first prize, Crouch said she would do some renovations, pay some bills and share the windfall with her family and children. With her most recent win, Crouch said she plans to do more of the same thing.
“I’ll finish the renovations we started to our kitchen and bathroom,” she said. “When that’s done, I’m going to get started on the basement.”
While it’s not often that winners take home two major prizes, it’s not unheard of:
- In 2017, an Edmonton couple won an $8.1 million LOTTO 6/49 jackpot, seven years after splitting a $100,000 EXTRA prize.
- In 2013, an Oyen winner won $1 million with WESTERN 649, just days away from the one-year anniversary of bringing home a $100,000 EXTRA prize.
