$17 million LOTTO 6/49 jackpot won in Edmonton

Pritpal Singh Chahal experienced confusion and disbelief while checking his LOTTO 6/49 ticket on a self-scanner. After counting and recounting the numbers in the prize amount, he discovered that he had won a whopping $17,183,706.90 on the July 30 LOTTO 6/49 draw!

"I told my wife and she didn't believe me," he remembered.

Chahal hasn't decided what to do with his windfall. "I am a simple man living life peacefully," he said. "I still can't believe what has happened."

Chahal purchased his winning ticket from the Shoppers Drug Mart located at 250 Watt Common SW in Edmonton. He won his prize by matching all six main draw numbers on the July 30 LOTTO 6/49 draw – 9, 21, 22, 27, 35 and 47.
