Million-dollar LOTTO 6/49 win in Regina

Gordon Loucks is one million dollars richer… and it’s all thanks to his dog!

The Regina resident won $1 million on the Oct. 2 LOTTO 6/49 draw after going to the store to get his dog a treat.

“Well, my dog wanted some milk,” he laughed while claiming his prize. “I went to the store and decided to buy a LOTTO 6/49 ticket at the same time.”

“So, I guess I owe it all to my dog!” he continued, chuckling.

Loucks said he discovered his win when he checked his numbers on WCLC’s website.

“I was looking at the numbers and saw a million-dollar Guaranteed Prize was won by someone in Regina,” he said. “I wrote down the winning number and looked at my number… I thought I was dreaming!”

“I called my brother and he said, ‘Yeah, right. Go back to bed.’” he continued. “He came over a little while later and we checked the ticket on the Lotto Spot app. Sure enough, it was a winner!”

The winner said he hasn’t made any major plans for his winnings yet,  but knows one thing for sure: he’s going to take care of his family.

“I going to make sure my mom is taken care of,” he said. “She’s 95-years-old and raised seven kids. She deserves to live the rest of her life without any financial worries.”
