Travel Tips for Lottery Players
|
Many lottery players enjoy
taking the opportunity to travel across Canada and explore other parts of
the country. But what happens if you buy lottery tickets outside your home
province or territory? Do you know how to claim any prize you might win?
Here’s some information that might come in handy.
Tickets Purchased in the Prairies and
Territories
Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC) is
responsible for lottery games in the Prairie Provinces and Territories. If
you buy a ticket within the Prairies and Territories, you can claim cash
prizes up to $1,000 at any participating Retailer in WCLC’s region. See Claiming a Prize
for
information on how to claim prizes over $1,000 and merchandise or "Collect
to Win" prizes. |

Tickets Purchased in Another Part of Canada
In addition to WCLC’s region, there are four other Canadian lottery
jurisdictions, and each one is responsible for printing its own tickets and
paying its own prizes. If you’ve purchased a ticket in another part of Canada,
you must claim the prize from that region. This applies to the two national
games – LOTTO 6/49 and SUPER 7 – as well as any regional games offered only in
that area.
If you discover your win while you’re still within the area where you bought
the ticket, you can claim your prize in person, or, if you’ve already returned
home, you can mail the ticket to the appropriate organization to redeem the
prize. A mailing address and/or contact telephone number should appear on the
back of your ticket.

region, you can use the links below to visit the other four lottery
