TWENTY CO-WORKERS WIN $141,635 ON LOTTO MAX!Vince Laliberte has been playing the lottery with 19 other people for about a year. The lucky group won $141,635.90 on the June 9 LOTTO MAX draw.
“I got a call from the lottery office letting me know our subscription had won,” said Laliberte. “I must have had a serious look on my face because Albert said, ‘Is that the call telling us they pulled our lottery numbers?’ All I could do was nod my head!”
Laliberte and his group, who worked together when the group first started playing the lottery together, purchase their lottery tickets by subscription.
After being notified of the win, Laliberte shared the news with all of the other group members, who didn’t believe him at first.
“It took some convincing, but after that we all had a very happy week!” said Laliberte. “This win really brought the group together and put a smile on all of our faces!”
The group members include: Laliberte, Rocky Hansen, Terry Hansen, Paul Plunz, Trent Dziki, Ted Ratt, Lee Engele, Albert Veld, Frankie Kiezie, James Hansen, Mervin Aubichon, Lawrence Werminsky, Kevin Hansen, Nyle Wasylenchuk, Sylvain Sirois, Stan Laviolette, Kirk Hagan, Shawn Barbe, all of whom live in Saskatchewan, and Shane McFadyen and Jim Mardell, who live in Manitoba.
The happy winners will each take home $7,081.79. Laliberte said everyone has a few ideas for their winnings, which includes paying off some bills, taking a vacation, and finishing some home renovations.
